Red Wing

We recently spent the day in Red Wing, Minnesota, a charming town located on the banks of the upper Mississippi. It is a 45 minute drive from Rochester. We loved the limestone buildings, the colorful Victorian homes, the church bells chiming throughout the day, and the flower baskets hanging from every lamp post. We also took time to enjoy the Red Wing Trolley Tour (about an hour long, historical tour of the town), eat dessert at Red Wing Confectionery, and browse the Scandinavian items at Uffda Shop.
In future visits, we'd like to see the world's largest boot at Red Wing Shoe Company Museum, and take some time to play at Colvill Park- my kids were dying to stop when the trolley drove us past the play structure (below).

What is your favorite thing to do in Red Wing?

Colvill Park is amazing, and worth the trip to RW on its own. There is also a water park there to enjoy in the warmer months.
