El Carambas

I think there is an unwritten rule that the closer you live to the Mexican border, the better the Mexican restaurants. I love this food genre and was a little nervous about what we would find so far north. This weekend we were introduced to local "hole-in-wall" El Carambas (1503 12th St. SE). While it was not the best Mexican I have ever had, it was really good and exceeded my expectations for Minnesota. The service was outstanding, the staff kept doting on our kids and even brought us a free dessert. The salsa bar was also a fun feature. It is a small restaurant, inexpensive, and yummy. We will go back.

What is your favorite place to go for Mexican in Rochester?
