Quarry Hill Nature Center

I am a little embarrassed to admit that in nearly 18 months of living in Rochester, this past weekend was my very first time to Quarry Hill Nature Center (701 Silver Creek Road). Wow- 320 acres of paved and hiking trails, a fishing pond, a butterfly garden, fossil beds in limestone quarry, sandstone caves, a biking trail linking to downtown Rochester, and an interactive exploration hall. Admission is free. They also feature nature based events, guided hikes, classes, and can used as a birthday party venue throughout the year. We were lucky to go on a gorgeous fall day and observe the fall colors. My kids were huge fans of the exploration hall. Basically, we can't wait to go again!

Be sure to visit their website for their calendar of events.
