We spent Saturday morning at the Rochester Downtown Farmer's Market. I had a goal of picking up a few fresh veggies and some locally-grown, grass-fed beef. My kids couldn't leave without animals from a balloon artist. And the real treat of the day... the most delicious vanilla sugar donuts! I am craving another one now.
We bought our beef from Misty Meadows Farm in Pine Island. I promise to never talk politics or religious persuasion on here, but I have to give a plug for grass-fed beef, which is not only more humane and promotes a healthier environment, but actually contains essential fatty acids and vitamins which are lacking in animals from factory farms. Living in Rochester, we are so close to small-scale farms, it is silly not to buy local. Go here to learn more.

I agree on grass-fed beef. I bought my own whole beef last fall, and love the flavor as well as all the healthy benefits.
